The Norfolk Admirals are a professional hockey team in the Eastern Conference Hockey League (ECHL), the middle level of the professional hockey ladder in North America. When they were first established in 1995, the Admirals were known as Bakersfield Fog and Bakersfield Condors, giving them a unique history. When the team transitioned to the ECHL in 2003, they had previously competed in the West Coast Hockey League. After that, the Condors moved to Norfolk, West Virginia, to take over the Anaheim Ducks' former American Hockey League (AHL) affiliation.
